no they would not. there are many who prefer the older term, and other outmoded terms like "sex-change" since it pushes harder towards the notion that sex itself is mutable and there is no meaningful constant about yourself beyond your control. the sex-gender dichotomy leaves openings for terms like calling a trans woman a "male woman" since the "sex" is male but the "gender" is female, and needless to say that's not a term most would appreciate being described as.
