We play using a software called zoom, so yeah its pretty much irl mafia over the internet.

What do you use for your reads?

In video mafia it's easy to since if someone is nervous by tone of voice and facial patterns, so the few forum games I've played I tend to read on interactions and sometimes people still say really odd things the same they do in video mafia.

From my perspective it feels a weird from the rest of the common banter going on in the thread.
He could be interested in the players, but you can also see it as someone who wants to say something very vague just for the sole reason of contribution. Also stick out as one of the few posts that arent really an interaction with anyone.

The host's claim that there are no vanillas is pretty interesting. The rules say not to meta the setup, so I won't. Just haven't ever played a game like that before.
