Some of them in jail cells, others mid-crime. But it was L who insisted these were not mere accidents. This was murder. L: It seems our murderer has a way to kill his victims without coming in contact with them... Shuichi Aizawa: That's crazy! It doesn't make any sense. L: It's crazier than that. I believe this killer can also control HOW his victims die. And in order to do this, all he has to know is their name and face... Soichiro Yagami: Hmm... Touta Matsuda: As impossible as it sounds, I'm willing to follow L's lead! If there is a killer out there, I want to bring him to justice! L: You'll be risking your lives in this investigation, but I do want to stress how important this case is. This criminal is powerful. He's childish. He has a God-complex and thinks he can decide who dies. And most horrifying of all...the number of people who support his actions are growing by the day. L: I'm just gonna grab some cake, chill, and let you guys take it from here. 5 minutes later, L returned to find the entire room up in flames. When the fire was finally put out. Soichiro Yagami's body was found. He had been burned to death. On his arm they found a tattoo or some shit that implicated him to Kira. Investigation Team Member: Ooh boy! Ironic, then, that evil was exactly what he was hoping to avoid. Hitoshi was currently working in a different time zone from the rest of the task force - he was famous for it. If Kira figured out this out...he'd be feeding the tulips in no time. And so, he woke up in the middle of the night, as any red blooded American task force member would do. Even if they were mostly all Japanese, canonically. "Howdy, partner. It is is I, yeehaw hamburger cowboy Hitoshi Demegawa," said Hitoshi over Zoom. "Thank goodness that we have such a secure video conferencing system, there's no way Kira can hack us! USA! USA USA!" On the other monitor, Light was currently beating his father to death with three different piano benches. "DIE MONSTER! YOU DON'T BELONG IN THIS WORLD! MAKE ME CLEAN MY ROOM, WILL YOU? BURN IN THE CLEANSING FLAMES OF JUSTICE, YOU DEMON!" Everyone else agreed that he had done the right thing. "He was just preventing us from getting anything done, honestly." A bunch of nonsense that wastes everyone time, and then they just end up rolling dice at the last second anyway. He was increasingly concerned about how some members of the task force were sympathizing with Kira. Some kept posting "Thanos did nothing wrong" memes and saying they should all commit mass suicide, as a joke. Some appeared to be a coma so deep their only contribution was falling asleep on their keyboard occasionally. Hitoshi was looking forward to a break from all the bullshit. He longed for the cooling breeze of windmills on his face once more. "Be careful, Hitoshi. He had thhe equivalent knowledge of seven phds in being smart, and was good enough at Tennis to compete in Wimbledon for some reason. Thhe only thing in tthe world he didn't know was how to tell time. After hour 17 of being chased through hell, he suddenly whirled around, having constructed a sword out of assorted bones he had secretly picked up. Kira was told the faces of his partners but not their names. Kira was also immune to the Death Note. This made it impossible for scum to kill each other, but helped balance the fact that there was two opportunities to kill each night. Once one group dies, the Death Note they possessed goes to the other group. On the last night, Kira had two Death Notes. I like town to generally have 3 mislynches, so the game was balanced towards that as much as possible without knowing how accurate scum would end up. Scum could have been much more accurate. The strategy proposed by town on day 1 that everyone should stay silent had a counter. Kira tracked everyone each night so he was tipped off to who town power is on night 1. Scum also had an opportunity to scan faces if they predicted or pushed the chosen lynches. Town power was also pretty low in general, because of the prize abilities existing. Day 1 Prize: Shinigami Eyes. Day 2: Fake Death Note. Day 3: Shinigami pencil (erase a death note entry) Day 4: One of the 7 Crystal Kidneys. This was the one missing in the flavor. It did nothing. You have received... A CRYSTAL KIDNEY One of the seven crystal kidneys needed to open the portal back to the human world. YINZ tried to kill him already which indicates they will be coming back for him at some point. that isnt how i imagine an indy would play, so i am comfortable labeling him t-o-w-n. YINZ next tier down i am less certain of but have no interest in lynching today. i have liked raye all game, even if end of day 1 was rough for him (especially if mello flips t-o-w-n). beyond that though i have liked his content overall. it also didnt feel like a s-c-u-m/s-c-u-m lynch yesterday.
