Board 8 > Simple Mafia Sign-Ups [Minimal roles, so anyone can play!]

The set-up here is simple: There are only three roles, those being Doctor, Cop, and Godfather. Everyone else is a Vanilla Townie or Goon. The scum team will comprise 25-33% of the roster. Roles will of course be randomized.

I will take any amount of players who want to play. This is meant to be a relaxed game compared to the last few, so people don't stress out about roles as much. This is perfect for new players (or old vets) to ease into it. You are welcome to sign up as a potential replacement, as always.

Here are a few things:

• I am Central time. Days will start and end at 8 pm Eastern, to better accommodate my evenings.
• I would like to start this either Wednesday or Friday this week (probably the latter, depending on how fast this fills). I am fully booked Thursday evening so that's a no-go. My evenings for the rest of the month are mostly open, save for two. Will do my best to work around those.
• No thematic flavor. I'm keeping this very simple. I will have amusing methods of death, however, and will embellish them for my own enjoyment. I mean no offense with these. They are for entertainment purposes only and some of them will be written in the next few days.
• Rules of respect are in place. I will not modkill before giving people warnings (unless it's suspension-worthy), but I will not be afraid to give those out if I feel you're going outside the scope of the game. Please do not attempt to manipulate the host as that may result in a warning as well.
• As I liked this with Chris's game, votes are locked at LYLO/MYLO. You will not be told the exact number of scum until this time, just the percentage (which may make it obvious).
• This topic is unflaired so more people who might be interested will see it. All game topics will be flaired, as per custom.

Any people who have never played Mafia but have learned this topic this is a good game to give a shot pretty basic!

Still busy with Xenoblade 3 and need to finish that before FF14 6.2 so that is why I am not joining another game right now.

I think your problem is you have a game that you say is open to everyone and nobody has signed up other than people who are longtime veterans

I would probably try to recruit outside b8 if you want to fire it as is, otherwise there just might not be a market for this type of game here

It would effect my ability to play sooner rather than later.

Who are some people who haven't played in a long time? Also where is Tidus this game be perfect for someone like him

But I kind of agree alot of people in this community play for flavor even if they don't know alot about the flavor

It may also be that people are just busy, because it's August.

Or it could be because I'm a loser and nobody wants to play a game hosted by me.

I honestly think heavy vanilla setup is working against you more than lack of flavor

If there aren't enough sign-ups, I will let somebody else host one while I put together a crazier game with some very experimental roles. Flavor would just be me-themed >_>

I would just remind you that when building a game you want to make sure its a game that other people are going to appreciate. I am not sure if there is a big market for an experimental BCT themed mafia game

I mean... people won't know until they try, right?

I don't even know what people want anymore. I'm just trying to host a game where people can have fun. I don't even know what that means now.

I would recommend cohosting a game where the roles haven't been settled on yet

Means wait until Monday.

Means don't overthink it.

Means if you want to try to pull people in from potd or ce, you can try.

Means you can tag people you want to invite to play if you want.

Alright, so we have the following options:

1. I look for outsiders to fill spots in this setup, and it's always a huge risk to have so many.
2. I add a few additional roles that I don't specify, to make things a little more complicated.
3. I let somebody else host while I work on a game with crazy experimental roles.

I agree with Han. Heck, seven players with just Doc and Cop and two regular scum was a very traditional format on Epic Mafia back in the day, so it'll be a refreshing change of pace.

Yeah, you could move me from replace to active (my first game in... 14 years?) if we start next week and it stays under 10 players.

Peaf, would you be okay with 10 players exactly? Start Monday night? Would be awesome to see you come out of retirement!

My original scum percentage was for more players than this. If there are only 9, I'd have to make it 2 scum because LYLO on D2 would be too likely with 3 (possible 4 vs 3 D2). 3/10 would be better with doc. Maybe no godfather. I'll ask Chris.
