Peaf extended the original date to me because of memey joke reasons, but I explained my reason for accepting it earlier. Your reason is fine for why you accepted it but you are using my own argument of why you could be scum agasint me so it is kind of funny and hence why insaid it's a little contradictory since we are doing basically the same thing

You're right, it's probably not fair to characterize your quick back and forth with Lea as trying to get a date with her. I put it in my notes as you were the only one that responded to her question about who wanted to date her, but you just kind of threw her question back at her then got distracted by Ulti things afterwards.

Trying to get Lea to engage more doesn't count as looking to date her. She hadn't said much to that point or even now honestly.

So I have been thinking about this. I think we should avoid pairing up early and just kind of get a feel for everyone and who we might want left out in the cold.

If we have a wolf in a tough spot and someone goes against the grain, it could be a wolf partner saving them.

In this setup it's going to be tough to get wolves out the first two days because wolves can save each other. However, the game has a minimum of five days so they probably won't want to be too blatant about this. Something to keep in mind.

Hasty plays muddle the waters and favor wolves much more than town, so we should keep that in mind.

I interpreted 1.8 as responding to 1.5, so I don't see how it was supposed to be a joke. Lopen is saying it was clearly a joke post.

There you go Lopen. Sultan confirmed he was responding to Chris, not Lea. So that's why I'm saying if you're taking Chris's early post seriously, you should take Sultan's early post seriously as well.

It's okay that you just misinterpreted it as responding to Lea. But there's no foul play here.

Sultan confirming he was responding to Chris doesn't make it any less absurd to use that post as an argument foundation

I took it as both a light hearted way to say Chris's point was good while responding to Lea's joke

He said he's okay playing the long game, and then didn't play the long game. It's a simple observation that I just said is a point against Sultan. I'm not trying to build some huge case against him.

But my take on Kirby couldn't be further from yours I guess. I've found myself nodding in agreement with most of his posts thus far and was feeling comfortable about dating him.

Probably not even then. I agree with I believe it was Chris who says bodyguard is a probable source of protection that would still allow exactly 1 kill to occur.

So isquen not getting night killed might not be a bold assumption to make, but it was still an assumption and I'm cataloging it as such.

I'm not sure. But i think even if something is retracted it should still be noted in the history.

i take back my excitement about it being a more active d1 than normal, those were some words that i have now read

anyways my approach to this game is premised on the fact that this is a brand new variant with a brand new meta. peoples' behaviors are going to be wildly different and if you ask me, normal scumhunting paradigms should be thrown out the window.

this is why i like dumey and don't really like chris all that much. chris, while recognizing that this is a new game that requires new ideas, has come out of the gates quite strong with a lot of commentary on peoples' previous gameplay. i don't mind the effort, but the acknowledgements of the game's structural differences kind of feel like an afterthought or an appended comment as opposed to the premise of his analysis. obviously i can't know for sure how chris would come out of the gates here as town, but i feel like it would be a bit more "let's stop and think about different alignments' incentives here" than diving into legacy play.

conversely, dumey's suspicion of chris is based in 'this is what i think scum would do in this game' which i like. scum's objective here is to pocket 2 town allies, in its simplest form. then you can make it through alternating days safely. suspicion based in 'the way you were trying to build relationships is sus' is appropriate and i don't have a reason to really disagree with the read.

anyways overall it might be a bit simplistic, but i think that a d1 town perspective is harder to fake right now and i don't see dumey as performative. chris yes, dumey no.

otherwise i like lea, sultan, and lopen at the moment.

I maintain that pocketing allies seems more trouble for scum than its worth.
Realistically what scum wants most of all is to not be singled out first, they can worry about who to date later.

pocketing allies isn't as simple as 'let's buddy up' of course, it's about creating a perception of towniness and ending up on the what-would-normally-be-unlynchable list

i can answer that pretty simply, and it's that i liked your modesty and reticence when you said you were struggling with how to approach the game strategy

i mean it could just have easily been a scum thing to say given i do think this would be a difficult d1 for scum but it came across as earnest

Meat is a hardy meal and would not be performative feeling

The bare bonesyness is probably what makes it come off as performative, if it is indeed bare bones.

Wouldn't mind if they couldn't find a room:
Dumey - Not necessarily because I hard read him as scum, but he might be scum and the fact that so many interactions today have involved him I think it could provide a useful data point.
Corrik - He hasn't done anything yet. He's welcome to change my mind, but he needs to realize that his standard "see you on day 2 meta" isn't going to fly in a game like this.

Not sure about a 3rd at this time. Maybe red for idling safely? Maybe ulti for giving red a bed to sleep in? Either way they protect each other today, but they bear looking at moving forward.

Keep alive:
Lopen - Don't have a scum read on him yet and when Lopen is active there is a certain level of sharpness that he brings to a game that I think is positive and forces people to be more committal and less wishy-washy.
Kirby - I wouldn't be willing to share a room with you otherwise. This doesn't mean it's a 100% full town read and I would still be trying to read you during the night phase, but I hate the notion of being personally responsible for scum not dying and will be trying my hardest to not cause that.

And again a 3rd is hard to find. Maybe Chris for similar reasons to Lopen. But I don't love how quickly he offered me a room after starting the game saying we shouldn't be hasty. I know he explained it by saying he wanted to "calm my rage", but then he should know that it was the fact that it was ulti specifically that contributed to my outburst.

Really there's a lot of people I still want to see more from today and maybe that will help clarify who else deserves to live :D
