This discussion says that the green part is just prematurely dead tissue that doesn't harm the rest of the chicken and is even itself safe to eat, though it would probably taste bad. I'm just wondering if it would freak anybody out.

Nobody wants to eat the zombie chicken.

Nope. Despite being able to cut off bad bits I don't eat food that's even remotely spoiled.
