22 y/o Sorority Sister, Michaella Surat was BODY SLAMMED head first into the floor by a MALE police officer as the controversial footage surfaced online.

Michaella was on spring break and outside Bondi Beach Bar after allegedly "shoulder checking" an officer as she and her boyfriend were fighting with another man and a cop was called to break it up..the male boyfriend was then quickly seen trying to save and defend her but a cop pushed him out of the way

The Colorado State University student had horrific bruises to her chin and legs as a result of the head slam

However, Police Chief John Hutto said the video doesn't tell the whole story as he said the 5'9 and 115lbs girl "shoulder checked" him before he reacted forcefully. The police are REFUSING to release footage taken by his body cam

Good Morning America released the picture of her chin that shows the horrific bruising she got as a family spokesman said this kind of enforcement is disturbing.

Criticism quickly arose over the excessive force as one user said "Cops are too excessive and take their power way too far. if you're a cop and can't handle being "shoulder checked" you shouldnt be in the line of duty. This absolutely sickens me"

Michaella was charged with 3rd degree assault and obstructing a peace officer.

I understand that the police have the right to subdue an attacker, especially since she assaulted him (no matter how trivial, she in fact assaulted an officer), but still...I feel that it was excessive. Surely there could have been another option.....
