When i was growing up they were pretty cool to me. I liked the motorcycle fights, reminded me of road rash honestly. But the motorcycle stunts were pretty cool. I also liked the over dramatization of the gang members.

I've seen then both.
The first one is a classic and I love every song in the movie. Great musical, one of the best imo.
The second one is hot garbage and a clear cash grab. Horrible music, horrible acting, horrible dancing. Everything about it is so freaking cheesy
