NK vs CN: Are You Afraid of the Dark? vs Megas XLR

Now it's on. The best of Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon's history against each other. I've included three live action shows, if you don't like it, too bad. I'm fairly confident these are the best and most memorable of these network's original programming. Which side will be the last one standing?

New contenders, I swear to gosh this is the last time...

Are you afraid of the dark just never did it for me. I don't really remember watching it and I'm pretty sure I wasn't allowed to (but obviously that wouldn't stop anybody). I watched a few episodes in modern times and it holds up about as well as a ten week old submarine sandwich, horrible effects, bad acting, and feel good endings. Although to be fair that's actually every horror anthology show ever.

Still unsure about Double Dare :/

Zoids was awesome. Both seasons.

I wish that show was on something. I'd hella watch that

I finally looked up Megas and have no clue what the hell it even is. Never have I ever seen or heard of that show. Must be Canadian, but not the good kind like AYAotD

Megas is actually better than it looks. This one is a toughy, but I'm going with are you afraid of the dark.

lulwut? Plus half of them have pretty dark endings, between people being trapped somewhere, characters turning out to be dead, etc, and even the stories where everybody lives don't always end happily.

No. Just... no. There are quite a few excellent horror anthologies, even if each one may have a few bad eps (since even Monsters had a few crap episodes... although it had some campy effects regardless).

idk, I thought Chaotic Century was great but I could never get into the first series where it was just battlers. I wound up buying a Revoltech Genobreaker and was strongly tempted to buy one of the Genosaur kits.

The early seasons of AYAotD were good. If we were judging just those seasons against Megas, then Megas might finally bite it here, imo. However, the show that went for too long and lost its worth versus a show that should have gone for at least half a season longer can only mean one thing.

I'm voting Megas.

The Monster Rancher anime was non-stop cringe. I loved the games, but that anime was hard to watch, mostly because of the shitty main character choice (even Colt would have been an improvement >_>). Even pushing Mocchi as a Pikachu I could have stomached.

Supposedly there was another season or spinoff or something with a different main character who was accompanied by Grey Wolf which I've seen clips of, but can't really remember many details about it.

Megas is far better IMO, I never really enjoyed AYAotD, like, at all....

Ayaotd was fun though.

Didn't notice these polls till Megas XLR came in and I saw the name in a topic title.

This is the first actual difficult decision for me in these matchups. Megas is great, but I enjoyed AYAotD as a kid. Ugh....I'll abstain, maybe.

This is a tough one.

But I'll have to go with AYAOTD.

Come oooooon, it was great and died too early. Tons of great references and voiceovers, like Bruce Campbell and the original Optimus Prime and Megatron cartoon voices.

I liked Are You Afraid of the Dark as a kid, but Megas is the clear winner here.

Are you Afraid of the Dark was awesome. The episode where the guy uses the mirrors to steal people's youth was frightening to me as a child.

Never heard of Megas XLR and surprised it's doing so well. Might have to check it out.
