.....wrist. Which do you like to do? And even if you don't really wear watches, in your life which way have you worn it in the past?
Have never worn a watch.

And I'm a dinosaur from the time before cell phones or even pagers for that matter.

I don't like wearing watches. I always thought face-down was for women or effeminate teachers.

I mainly see old people wearing them face down. still, it might look a little weird but you can check your watch that way without making it obvious you are looking.
i thought face down is only in japan since i only see it in anime
I've always worn it face up. I've seen very few people wear it face down. I can't understand why people would wear it face down because it's inconvenient and uncomfortable.

If I had a NORMAL watch I'd wear it face up, as of right now, got a Pocket Watch instead, call me old fashioned or whatever but, I kinda like the look of those more....
No man should ever wear his watch face down. It's really effeminate.
Face down watches seem to be a common theme for post-apocalyptic heroes.

I Am Legend (film) and Metro 2033/Metro Last Light come to mind.

Those are the only instances where I've seen it in use.

I wear all watches face up on my wrist, as face down on my wrist would require divination to tell the time.

Like Smarkil said: military. They told us to keep the face down so that way the glare off the face doesn't give us away.

Having said that the only time I wore a fucking watch was when I was deployed or doing PT because I was a normal adult with a cellphone.
I never heard of this. Why the fuck.... It's like slapping food on your face instead of eating it.

That's not face down.
I understand the wording is a little weird, but that's what's meant by "face down"

I thought they meant putting the watch face against your skin.

... Still weird though.
Yeah, that's what I thought too.

You could just say the way ladies typically wear them.

im having trouble wrapping my head around this, too.

its not physically possible to put a watch with the face against your skin, and wear it that way at least on regular watch straps.
If I had bothered to read the OP I would have seen what TC meant. But even so, I wouldn't really consider this "face down." I simply thought face down meant that the face of watch was facing down (with your wrist in the normal position).
