Would you retire in a developing country?

In Cuenca, a city of about 350,000 people, they’ve found robust public transportation, an extensive museum network, solid healthcare and markets bursting with fresh fruits and produce. It’s a place where their two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath apartment costs less than $400 a month. They’ve found that for about $1,500 a month, they can live a solidly upper-class lifestyle, dining out frequently and traveling.

I have the impression that crime in less affluent countries is worse than US. I'd be worried about getting robbed and murdered and since I'm old I can't defend myself

I also can't speak Spanish so living there would be more difficult
YEA!
Latin America is a good place to be robbed and killed by gang members, reminds me of what happened to that couple that vacationed in Belize.
You are now blinking and breathing manually.
