I was always disappointed by Doctor Octopus. He should have been a real villian, rather than trying to say that the AIs in the arms were controlling his mind or something. and using the arms to control fusion? and showing fusion as a mini star floating in a room? (sounds so ridiculous typing it that I had to check to make sure that's right, but yeah it is...) none of it made any sense.
Evil sentient AI and cyborg body modification might be a little overkill for holding some hot stuff.
It would have made more sense if he was portrayed as an already mentally unstable scientist, then all the crazy stuff would have been him.
