Two 16 y/o Kids may be too young to vote but they are apparently old enough to run for GOVERNOR in next year's election because the state doesn't have age requirements to run for governor!!
Tyler Ruzich is the the kid from Prairie Village and junior at Shawnee Mission North High School who be 17 next year and is running as a moderate Republican. While 16 y/o Jack Bergenson of Wichita is running for the Democratic nomination.
Tyler says he's a "moderate" and encouraged his opponent to "go for it, go for it" and if things work out, Kansas may be getting a "youthful" new governor to replace current Republican Governor Sam Brownback as he's already served 2 terms and is unable to run again.
16 candidates have launched their campaigns in 2018 and since Kansas has no age requirement for running for governor, these 2 are eligible...
Tyler says having young candidates in the race is an opportunity to encourage young people to get involved in politics and government.
Would you vote for any of these 2? let's see if people would
