Nothing beats a good drama, especially if some romance is involved. Action and Adventure is also high up there.

War moves when it's done right with a suitable amount of action and drama as backing.

Adventure and fantasy games are pretty tied. bonus points to adventure fantasy games

Horror and crime for books.
