Would you continue to play a game with friends if you don't enjoy it?

I am sure there have been cases a friend(s) can't get into a game you like and vice versa. I have also seen some threads throughout GameFAQs asking how to convince said friend(s) to like or abandon certain games.

Regardless of the game or reasons, could you bring yourself to buy and play a game with a friend(s) just for the sake of playing with said friend(s)?

For me personally it really comes down to the cost of the game and if I'll get some enjoyment out of it. Take 2D fighting games for example. I lose 99% of the time but I still enjoy playing them with friends. Clash of Clan, I enjoy it but just can't get into clan wars so I play everything but that aspect of the game.

And then there's some games with questionable reviews like Fortnight. The game looked fun but I was hesitant on dropping $50-60 for it when there's microtransactions in the game. Now if the game was dirt cheap, I'll buy it even if I might play no more than a few hours worth.

Overall, would you buy and play a game if you can't really enjoy it just for the sake of playing with friends?

Sure. Ive had my fill of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, but have a group that I play with and well hook up once every couple of weeks for a few hours. PVP is coming soon, so well probably check that out.

As a kid I hated it when my friends took me into the bushes to play a game called Handsies, but I didn't say anything.

Ah that. I'm waiting for the co-op versus zombies one to go free-to-play.

The hang is more important to me than the game. I have to REALLY hate a game in order to not play it with my friends. I have one friend who is the total opposite though. If the group isn't doing what he wants, he is out.

Well option 5 first and foremost but option 1 as well. People provide far more enjoyment than games so toss in a game i outright hate if you like id still enjoy the time overall.

I don't like FPS games, but I used to play them all the time with friends because they did. We played lots of stuff I like though, so it all worked out.

Oh hell no. I won't even get into a multiplayer game that I wouldn't play solo. In fact, if the game is impractical to play solo I probably won't play it at all, even with friends.

That said, multiplayer can be a pretty important feature for purchase decisions, and I've passed on games that didn't have robust multiplayer support.
