24 days. It's half the days for half the coverage, which makes sense if you ignore the details of how the lilypads spread.
It's a less noticeable difference when the question is introduced as an IQ test though. People are usually on the lookout for the trick in those questions. If you ask people unfamiliar with the trick "If 5 machines take 5 minutes to make 5 shirts, then how long does it take 100 machines to make 100 shirts?" then a good number of them will answer 100 before thinking about it.
