No way, anything before the 80's was garbage, unless you can prove me wrong.

So, the 60's and 70's never happened then? Although a certain type of music that was hugely popular at the tail end of the 70's is best left permanently forgotten.

'80s or '90s. Maybe late eighties early nineties.
There was great music in the '70s too. Even in the '60s. And even before that.

For mainstream stuff Id go 80s easily, Im not big on the 90s sound and while 2000s had some stuff Im fond of, it just doesnt stand up to the 80s stuff.

hard to judge, i'd go with 80s but only being born in the late 80s I mostly only got to hear the good stuff. i'd have to go out of my way to track down the bad stuff. where as with modern music I get to hear it all, the good and the bad.

It's too hard for me to say, since each decade kind of has its own defining characteristics. Plus if you like 60's-sounding rock, you can find that from a 2010's band if you just look hard enough. It's easiest to say whatever is the current decade is the best since it's not like the music from the past has gone away.
Each genre has highlight and lowlight decades that don't line up with other genres, so there isn't really one clear best or worst. For rock I'd probably say something like:
60's > 70's > 90's > 80's > 10's > 00's

For pop music, probably this decade. Otherwise it is asking for too broad a qualification. The mainstream music of the 80's with its hair bands and rock ballads was mostly guttercrap, but the alternative new wave stuff with artists like Eurythmics and Prince was excellent

Man, I have a hard time thinking of a decade worse than the 2000's (I mean without going back before the 60's).
- "Post-grunge" rock like Creed and Nickelback
- Nu-metal
- Wannabe tough-guy Pantera ripoffs
- Lame, sappy "mom rock" or whatever you want to call John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Train, etc.
- Crunk hip-hop

So much of my favorite stuff is from the 80s, but there's so much trash there too that I'm not sure I could choose it. Of the four options though:
90s>80s>00s>10s

70s by far for me. Bon Scott AC/DC, hard rock Queen, countless prog rock bands, Rainbow with Dio, Deep Purple, Kansas, Boston... I could go on.

I don't really have decade so much as late 90s early 00s. I chose 90s though since that is the default choice here.

Can't really put anything past the 90's on the poll. The only options are 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's. It's been all downhill since Napster and the internet.
If I could only listen to one decade, it would probably be the 60's. Jazz, Blues, Rock n Roll - it was all there at the same time and most of it was the best of their genres.

Anything before 2003-04 is alright with me. Music went way downhill.

Alternative rock today has more variety than ever due to the fact that back then you pretty much had to get a record deal to get a quality recording. Modern electronics has made it more affordable than ever to self produce. We have some really awesome music getting put on YouTube all the time for free.
That said, I gotta vote 60's and 70's because I love the Beatles and Led Zeppelin
Working in a team is great! It always helps to have someone else to blame.

Queen's first 7 albums?
can't really argue against queen i've actually asked a few people before what modern (within like the 50-60 years) they thought just may be remembered hundreds of years later as considered timeless classics like Beethoven, and Freddy Mecury/Queen was the most common response I got.

My favorite era is the later 70s/early 80s.

90s for mainstream music
