Have you ever seen people wear ugly MAGA outfits in public before?

Lyn Orltesky, the high school math teacher who was suspended for asking 2 male students to reverse their "Make America Great Again" t-shirts has resigned after getting DEATH THREATS from Trump Supporters!!

The former River Ridge High School Teacher in Georgia submitted her resgnation to the board after getting death threats while suspended.

She asked 2 students to turn their tops inside out after taking exception to the slogan used by Neo-Nazis during a violent Charlottesville rally.

She was put on leave in September and said "After attacks on my character and threats on my life, i have made the decision to resign from my teaching position. While in hindsight i would have handled the situation differently, the outcry over this incident has been disproprotionate to the event itself"

The school apologized and said while disciplinary action against her wouldn't be disclosed, the students were not in trouble.

i really hate how death threats are mentioned every time something like this happens, death threats have become so trivial in the age of the internet, literally anyone who has played a multiplayer game online has "received death threats".

Well, technically she couldn't ask them to do that anyway so the suspension was justified. Political candidate apparel was specifically protected via a SCOTUS case.

People should be punished for them.
They really need to give everyone who makes death threats convictions for first-degree murder. It's obvious nobody feels accountable for this anymore, as they're thrown around over anything from this to video game release delays. Is that a bit of overkill? Yes, but you can't argue people would shut the fuck up and learn to deal with their feelings instead of freaking out and acting entitled forever.

perhaps, but most "death threats" are only made because of the anonymity of internet communication, with little to no actual intent behind them. how do you propose to punish some 11 year old canadian for typing a death threat to a 24 vietnamese woman playing the same video game? the fact of the matter is that receiving a death threat online means almost nothing because it's a throwaway statement. they only exist because of how internet communication works.

id also be willing to bet that if the situations were reversed and a teacher resigned because of outrage over telling students to reverse clinton apparel, you'd be awfully silent.

Seriously, I think it's culture shock. The baby boomers just aren't used to Generation Irony.
One day dude, I'm just gonna get off the bus, and I'm gonna run in the woods and never come back, and when I come back I'm gonna be the knife master!

Hate speech isn't protected, though. Hooray for Trump for blurring the line there -_-
Who's your favorite character from "Bend It Like Beckham"? And you can't say Beckham.
Nope; I've never seen an ugly one in public before.
