I've only been across the Atlantic, and I was happy to be home after almost a month abroad, but I prefer Europe to North America in basically every way but the expense. If I had the money, I'd move (dual citizenship FTW). I had lots of family to stay with, so I never had to pay for accommodations, and it was cool to get free drinks and store discounts because of my accent, so it was fantastic. By the time I left England though, I forgot how I used to sound and came back with a bit of one (I had one when I was really little, which made me predisposed to this), calling the trunk the boot on top of it all (I grew up mainly in an ex-pat community).
"message parlor" ? do you mean the post office ?
