I swear that at least two thirds of the population are stupid, selfish, unsympathetic, and want to force everyone to be the same or else.

You should never trust any part of the US government, or any government for that matter
History has always been filled with blind masses violently adjusting to changes and discoveries of a few enlightened individuals, and assuming just because they can "monkey see monkey do" they are just as civilized or intelligent as the people who were enlightened that they are now copying.

And we need those people. There's lots of mediocre jobs that need to be done, and mediocre people are perfect for them. Without them, their betters would be stuck shoveling shit instead of doing actually important things.
People still think Nintendo's good, I have almost no faith in humanity because of that.

Its usually the people who are assholes that create the idea in peoples mind different work requires different rewards.
This is wrong.
You should be rewarded based on the change you bring about, not what you can trick people into giving you.
Ditch diggers contribute more to the world than miley cyrus, but of course her salary is probably that of all the ditch diggers combined (and now we have prison systems using prisoners to dig ditches for free, taking away jobs... but thats another rant)
I follow the japanese belief of "it takes all kinds" and not simply because "some people have better things to do"...
Its just sad that the verbal IQ of ditch diggers tends to be low enough that they don't know how to argue a fair wage or understand that industrialists still need workers to make the robots to replace them...
