Well, I guess I'm eating my words. I said the other day that a new announcement so soon after their mini Direct wasn't going to happen until mid-February.

If the ACNL designer is advertising it, it's probably a new Animal Crossing game. Hopefully for the Switch and not just an expansion of that mobile AC game.

I mean, that's not wrong. Unless they were sold at a massive loss, there's no way they could offer that kind of variety of plastic peripherals at a low enough price to get the kind of buy-in needed to justify development. This way, they get to offer more variety and have a chance that people will actually buy them, especially with the added attraction of getting to build them yourself (which can be pretty fun).

those are practically inevitable in some form, it's good they're doing new things. of course, it's nintendo, so who the hell knows if it'll work out, but still.
