Frequently stated but there isnt a whole lot to back this up actually. Not at all surprised that you believe it without question.
There are certainly a rise in some health problems but most of those are obviously due to people consuming more calories and having less physical activity.

Curing cancer makes way more sense seeing as we don't really even know yet if it's possible. Obviously it's possible to end hunger, it's just a matter of getting the right volumes of food to the right places. It's a pretty apples to oranges comparison, topic would have been more interesting if it was between two currently incurable ailments

Cure cancer, not just for the legitimate good it would do the patients but also for the chance to see big pharma and insurance companies squirm.
I'd choose Cure Type 1 / Type 2 Diabetes over both of these. Cancer as it is right now has a decent solution but Diabetes doesn't and affects more people.

Wut? Diabetes is a much more manageable disease on average. Cancer has better best-case scenarios, but the worst-case scenarios are much worse

I'd rather feed the hungry, I think it'd do more for society. Most of society's basic needs are not met, due to the greed of others. If we could sort that out, it'd go a long way.

While the hungry and starved need to eat, if I had to choose, I would go with curing cancer. Cancer is the worst disease known to man, and is a truly terrible, terrible thing. People who are hungry, can be helped, and fed. Cancer, on the other hand, is a living nightmare. Millions of people get some form of it every year, and rarely is it ever cured or stopped. Most of the time, all you can do when you have cancer is prolong your life by 5-10 years, if lucky. It takes the lives of countless people, including people who could potentially do a lot of good for the world, and in turn help those who are starved.

Neither. All the funds that would have been used to fulfill my wish had I picked either option, will be transferred to my personal bank account instead, at which point I will retire and live off the newly acquired millions of dollars.

It's funny that people think that cancer is completely happens from life decisions when we do see kids getting cancer rarely. Sometimes those kids are as young as a few years old.. Yep all the refined sugars and GMO's that 3 year old consumed absolutely gave that 3 year old cancer!
Part of the reason why cancer was less prevalent a long time ago was that people lived to be about 40-50 on average. I also have a feeling that if someone got cancer way back then they were less likely to know exactly what the problem was.

Solving hunger is a distribution problem - we have all the tools, we just need to make use of them. If there was some divine edict laid out that no one could to go hungry or everyone would be immediately smote by the wrath of God, we could do it.
Cancer, on the other hand, is a knowledge problem - some forms are simply beyond our current ability to cure.So I'd rather solve that, because hunger is a much simpler issue.
