My brothers mostly do this, but I've had to occasionally do both. I enjoy manually mowing the lawn, but shoveling snow is a hassle. Your nose starts watering, the snow can get heavy, and it's just really uncomfortable in general.

I like shoveling because it makes for a different workout, mowing I like because I find it a calming experience. Both I do listening to music.

At my locale, lawn. for three reasons:

1. More tedious
2. Takes longer
3. Must be done more often

Hate them both, hate snow more than mowing grass, but I hate mowing grass more than shoveling snow. But mowing grass is something you will have to do about once a week no matter what, while shoveling snow is something you may only need to do 3 or 4 times all winter if it is a dry winter or light snows that melt or get blown away in the wind the next day. plus you can get a snow blower and be done with it relatively quickly.

shoveling snow is hard on the back, but at least you can sort of do it quickly

mowing the lawn makes a ton of noise, you have a mechanical device to maintain, it's sort of messy, it's a way larger area, you have to clear the yard, it's not always easy to get every nook and cranny, maybe you have to also do some weed-eating, etc.

Ive never had to shovel snow but i expect i would still hate mowing more by a long shot. Cold > Heat, neighbors disagree with Cold > Heat so theyd likely stay inside and leave me the fuck alone, and i imagine its quieter.

and then when you're actually doing something with snow that isn't playing in it, you're going to call snow out for what it is

Shoveling, usually because there is a lot less of it and it is an excuse to get some exercise when you normally are trapped inside all day. Mowing the lawn is a boring activity when you could be doing more exciting things outdoors.

That said I hate going out in the snow because the roads are shit and everyone forgets how to drive.
I am a senior software engineer. If you see me post here, I am tired of writing TPS reports.

Shoveling snow by a mile, especially when it's one of those 24 hour snowstorms where you should shovel in the middle of the storm so the accumulation isn't as much but by the time you go around the house it feels like you've done nothing at all.

I don't hate it, but I dislike cutting grass more just because of how often it has to be done.

but when there's like a foot of snow or more it's quite annoying.

Lawn. The only reason is because it has to be done often. And takes longer.

Snow sucks because winter sucks. But I can get away with shoveling just enough, if I even shovel any at all. But you have to do the whole lawn(front and back), and it's weekly thing(some lawns can go a little longer)...

So, yeah...
