No, but there was an intern, and she went out with two coworkers at once (let's call one douche and the other stoner). I got caught in the crossfire. Also, I should preface this by saying everyone in my department was super young and we were friendlier than coworkers normally get.
Anyway, these two guys both went out with her for a few weeks? I'm not sure on the timeline.
Douche was secretive about it. Stoner was more upfront about it.
Eventually it became clear that she needed to make a decision (I don't know why). But she was kinda avoiding the situation and she would ask me to do things because I was the neutral/safe choice.
Early on, we got invitations to a late night company event months away and needed to RSVP. She asked if she were allowed (she wasn't sure if she was going to be working after the summer). Douche joked/teased that interns were not allowed. I quickly without thinking said she could be my plus one. Her eyes really lit up. Man, I did not know what I was getting into.
Eventually there is a department trip to the beach. She asks me rub sunscreen on her. The two guys gave me funny looks, but also everyone teased me because I get super uncomfortable doing things like that when I'm not involved with the other person and my department thinks it's hilarious. They found out from that one time we went clubbing and she was dancing on me, and I turned her around and said, "We're not like that, so don't." She thought it was hilarious and apparently everyone saw or found out.
Anyway, during the beach trip she finally got confronted by douche. He made the decision really easy by coming off so controlling (she talked to me about it the Monday after).
She tried explaining how hard it was to break up with him, despite them never really being a thing. I told her I understood exactly what she was talking about because before she came along, he used to ask me to lunch all the time and her couldn't take no for an answer. He is unusually persistent.
After the trip too, douche just started thinking everyone in the department was against him. He eventually quit after his performance review.
