Reminds me of when we first opened our store. My uncle volunteered to pick up our first bins for us. We were just going to borrow his trailer, but he insisted on driving and doing it all.
I offered him $100, or for him to get anything he wanted from the stuff we were picking up. He refused both, saying he didn't need anything to help us out.
But the next day we got a phone call from her accusing me of not even offering him anything, and that he was hurt that I took advantage of him. I told her that wasn't true, that I offered him $100 or his choice of anything he wanted, and she said that would be good enough and asked for cash. So I reluctantly got her the money, and she went through our stuff and took some valuable items.
