When does the museum guy move in?
After you give Nook enough specimen, Blathers shows up the next day. You give him more specimen, and it'll take 1 day for the museum to build.

Also, my island has apples and Nook gave me some oranges. Once I get my shovel, can I plant these oranges and get orange trees?
Yes. You'll get the shovel recipe from Blathers.

Get the slingshot recipe from the little Nook selling items in the Resident tent. You can also buy a full slingshot from him.
