The dodgy parts of town don't have supermarkets (don't even get me started on that 100% intentional bullshit); the closest thing would be Family Dollar.

I have one called Kuhn's that is a little bit run down that I guess would fit the description of "dodgy" plus the name alone makes people not from here do a double take.

There is another one called Giant Eagle. I guess "dodgy" isn't the right word but people from around here love to wax poetic about how their high prices are evil and killed their dog. They are much more expensive than a place like Aldi, but not too much more expensive than the above mentioned Kuhn's. At least once a week there is some type of thread on my cities reddit going on about the prices as if it's actually that noteworthy.

We used to have a place called Jack & Jill. They were apparently a small franchise chain, but there aren't many left.

Pretty much that.

The closest thing they have is Dollar General or 7-Eleven.

I don't know if we really have a dodgy one. All the big ones are pretty standard and the small ones are basically all ethnic ones. There are 2 Mexican ones, a Thai one, and 3 or 4 "international" ones that all their products come from east Asia.

If I had to choose maybe either the new Mexican store on the south side of town or the international one next to the strip club. The one next to the strip club I've only been in once but it was dirty and extremely unorganized. But they did have some products I havent seen at the other grocery stores. Same for the Mexican one, but I'll give the caveat that it was the week they opened and may just not have been fully set up yet. They took over the old pizza hut building and I couldn't tell where the customer area ended and the employee only area began, but as I ended up next to an oven making pastries I'm pretty sure there is an employee only area that I entered into. But there was also a shelf of priced product there so maybe still part of the store?
I am awesome and so are you.

That is pretty large for a liquor store, at least it would be in my area. Most of them are only 3 isles, 2 for wine and one for hard liquor. We have a couple that are bigger, but they advertise as "liquor warehouses".

Grocery Outlet

Safeway is a close second, if only for all the tagging, the denizens of that street corner, and the company's general reputation.

Giant eagle used to be ok when it was the dirty bird but now that it tries to pretend to be whole foods it sucks. I worked at one when I was seventeen, pushing carts and bagging groceries. I remember one of the cashiers did an Elvis impersonation (thank you, thank you very much) to literally every customer and I had to spend six hours shifts listening to it.

I also once found a Michigan j frog cassette tape in one of the carts I was pushing
