will it be/was it microsurgery? the one time I had surgery, it could have been microsurgery but wasn't, so big 10cm incision, etc.

anyway, hope you get through it ok

I'd like advice

I do need this surgery but I don't think I can take too many more days of laying here doing nothing.

Would I be wimpy for rescheduling or is it the right action given current state?

Hospitals are not allowed to keep you against your will unless they petition to have you committed, which usually only happens in cases of extreme injury/sickness or when a patient is not of sound mind.

You're free to leave AMA (Against Medical Advice). This is how it works in the States, at least. I'd hedge a bet that Canada is no less draconian than the US in that aspect

That's not really what I meant. I know I can just leave, I'm just reaching peak ennui and am questioning staying

I didn't even get the surgery, they were simply far too busy so they sent me home on the high priority waiting list.

Yes I am still waiting, and yes if I stayed in the hospital I'd still be there... hooked up to an IV and on daily antibiotics.
