It's one thing if people are being petty with this, which I'm sure they will.

But this reminds of one particular fuckwit who parked his full size truck in the middle of a narrow parking lot lane to run into AMSCOT.

I'm all for it.

When it comes to things like parking across driveways or in bike lanes, I'd be fine with just making it legal to key the car or smash a window. To get even 40% of a cash reward is just icing on the cake.

Most of the parking issues I run into are in private lots, which probably wouldn't be covered by the app. Give me a way to report people being assholes while driving though and I'd be all over that even without a reward.

That's the same vibe as "winning the lottery isn't even that great because you lose half of it to taxes." It's a weird fixation on what's being "lost" as though that somehow overshadows the tens of millions of dollars you still get that you otherwise wouldn't have.

If I can put in a few seconds of trivial effort to ensure some entitled prick gets punished for parking like an entitled prick, and I get paid for those few seconds of trivial effort, I'm not going to get pissy over that reward being less than face value (especially not by the same margin by which all other income in the country is less than face value, meaning the purchasing power of any net income has already been scaled by that margin). That's still money I otherwise wouldn't have had in exchange for something I'd consider doing for free.

there also needs to be a way to report people who illegally lack their front license plate

and people who lack up to date car registration stickers

and people who have license plate covers that make them impossible to be read at a distance

I just listened to a guy who lives in his car and hasn't been to a doctor in 15 years. He said he doesn't care because he wants to die before he hits 40 anyway. He's about to get fired from his job because he falls asleep in front of customers. (union saved his ass)

Of course, despite being in a tax bracket where he doesn't pay taxes, he primarily blamed all his money going to taxes and union dues. 90% of people who complain about taxes barely pay any in my experience. Same with the $3/week union dues that guarantee them all these benefits. His plan is to win big with poker. He says he's not good at poker.
