That's the same vibe as "winning the lottery isn't even that great because you lose half of it to taxes." It's a weird fixation on what's being "lost" as though that somehow overshadows the tens of millions of dollars you still get that you otherwise wouldn't have.
If I can put in a few seconds of trivial effort to ensure some entitled prick gets punished for parking like an entitled prick,
and
I get paid for those few seconds of trivial effort, I'm not going to get pissy over that reward being less than face value (especially not by the same margin by which all other income in the country is less than face value, meaning the purchasing power of any net income has already been scaled by that margin). That's still money I otherwise wouldn't have had in exchange for something I'd consider doing for free.
