PS5 also saves save data to the console's hard drive.
Which is also dumb because if the console breaks you're data is still gone. imo all consoles should at least give you the option of also saving backup on a memory card, and really I don't see why game companies don't do this when it's an opportunity for them to make even more revenue selling memory/sd cards or backup drives. The PS5 isn't as bad as the switch, though, because the PS5 isn't a handheld console and thus has less of a chance of breaking. Plus, it's easier to get the PS5 repaired and the hardware that saves your game data is more sturdy than what's in the switch. Meanwhile getting the switch repaired and trying to recover data from it is a nightmare. And it's not like the switch was very well built to begin with and had a low chabce of breaking. Remember the joycon drift? The errors? The update that fucked up people's data? Saving game data solely on the console with no option for external storage is bad enough, but doing that with a handheld was such a braindead move.
While I'm at it, I think consoles that only allow download games instead of physical copies are also trash, so comparing the switch to the ps5 is like comparing cat shit and dog shit to me.
