Daves hot chicken hottest option is a bit ridiculous
Where do you live?Illinois, I have so many great, authentic cuisines around here from places known for their spiciness that are pretty hot but I haven't felt overwhelmed by spicy food in years.
Yeah, most spicy stuff in mainstream places is extremely mild. I can get some good spice levels if I make it myself. Probably not going to get anything really spicy unless you find a Thai place in a larger, more diverse city.Chicago is a pretty large and diverse city, and I've had homemade spicy cuisine from other cultures, not just restaurants

Personally, I've known several Mexican restaurants with a secret off-menu hot sauce that has actual heat.

And there is the point at which catering to those incapable of handling spicy food gets outrageous. It reminds me of the time, I'm in Cabo at an all inclusive resort with my family of Mexican descent. We kept asking for an actually hot hot sauce and they couldn't deliver. It why I travel with my own.
which hot sauce do you travel with?Tapatio

The obvious solution is to make your own food and make it as spicy as you want.
That or just pepper spray your meals (disclaimer: do not actually do this).
