19 y/o Mimi Mbah from Cameroon but now lives in Gaithersburg, Maryland is being praised online for her courage to hit back at RACISTS on twitter who said she would be more attractive if she was LIGHTER skinned!!

She exposed the racist on twitter and shared his tweet and responded with "No thanks, i wouldn't trade my skin colour for the world"

The aspirig model won the support of tens of thousands of online people and is now featured on AFRICAN BEAUTIES!!

Mimi was disappointed by the message as she's never encountered such abuse like it before and said "Reading the comments, i definitely felt disappointed to see that there are still people out there that shame others for the darkness of their skin, but it didn't surprise me because i've heard comments like these before. I wanted to stand up not only for me but for anybody who has felt or feel less due to the ignorance of others"

She did not receive an apology from the user Tosh but said she hopes he's learned from this as now she feels like she has a platform to use to talk about things like this and give advice to other dark skinned women going through similar situations and maybe blaming themselves for it but to see that colourism is still real...

That's the same thing my wife said when she saw the pictures. This girl has the same hair type that my wife's sister has and my wife's sister spends a LOT of time taking care or it and styling it so it doesn't look like that. I can see how that would get old quickly, but I agree that that hair doesn't do much for me when it is that out of control.

I worked with an Eritrean girl and said this too me. It's the same in Asia tbh, white skin is seen as beautiful while dark skin is seen as a sign of being poor (more likely to be working in the sun all day thus making your skin darker). It's almost impossible for me to find a lotion or shaving cream here that doesn't advertise skin whitening on it.
