42 y/o Travis Malouff from Colorado choked to death while trying to eat a large 1LB DOUGHNUT!!..
He was at Voodoo Doughnuts in Denver participating the c hains "Tex-Ass Challenge" where the goal is to eat one pound glazed doughnut, which is the equivalent of SIX VooDoo doughnuts in 80 SECONDS or less!!
They are allowed to drink fluids and dunk it in their mouthes...and that's what Travis did when he tried stuffing the massive doughnut in his mouth and then began to choke as witnesses desperately tried to save him but were unable to perform the Heimlich Maneuver since no one was trained to do so!!
Ambulance arrived to try to and save him at around 130am but it was too late as he died in the lobby from "asphyxia due to obstruction of the airway"..
The only winning prize was that you didn't have to pay $4.50 for the doughnut and a button that says "I won the Tex-Ass Challenge"
Julia Edelstein was there and said "it's too much food for one person, even as the size that he was. That's too much for someone to eat. He was trying to force it down"
Voodoo are saddened by what happened and cooperating with police..
Curtis Malouff described his on as energetic and open minded and that he was willing to take on any challenge...
