Which of these closest describes your personality in real life?

I'm curious how this one will play out. I'm probably option 2.

Maybe, but that's why I included descriptions to help nail down a better idea of what I was trying to say.
I'm an extrovert at work, but once I'm off the clock I want people to leave me alone. :u

A bit of the 1st and 3rd introvert options. I don't have many friends I hang out with IRL but I know a lot of people online, and I still value the time I have to myself greatly.

I tend to describe myself as socially apathetic most of the time. Being in a big crowd doesn't "drain" me like most introverts say, it's more that I just have no particular interest in socializing most of the time.

Specifically, the particular way it has. Nobody has any idea what they actually mean and just go off the pseudoscience that they heard someone else say.

I'm pretty sure extrovert is short-hand for "outgoing" and introvert is short-hand for "shy." Most people understand the ways the words are used. Not sure where you get the idea that "nobody" has any idea how to use them.

Because I'm getting paid? :u Work goes better when you're friendly with your coworkers. I'm just not a people person in general though. If you pay me though...
i'm an extrovert. my wife is an extreme extrovert. we throw house parties that of late have gotten too big.

Somewhere between introvert and extrovert. Tests I've taken put me at extrovert though. I have a small group but I'm trying to gain more and leave a few behind.

Not really in one of those categories.

I can easily speak to new people and enjoy meeting new people some days. Other days I want "me" time. It all depends on my mood.

I think the extrovert/introvert dichotomy is kind of stupid.

This is well said.

In between options 2 and 3.
"She was like, 'Oh, did you see that firefighter? Hes so cute.' And I was like, Mom, I just got blown up."
People often fail to understand the introvert/extrovert dichotomy. Pretty much no one is wholly one or the other - it's a percentage thing. However, the crux of the issue is whether you feel energized or drained while being around groups of people. Of course, you have days when you just wanna chill by yourself, but are you literally 50/50 on "hang out days" and "chill days"? Probably not. I think most people fall one one side or the other.

Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not after you.
I am really social but don't let many people in. I have a core group of friends that actually know me and everyone else just sees the public face. I like being the center of attention and the life of the party and meeting new people but it takes a lot to move from acquaintance to friend with me.

so the first three options all have parts that look right.

MBTE I get INTJ with a weak I.
Man, I'm more of an introvert but I have no problems talking to new humans because I'm human. Why would I be afraid to talk to other humans like myself? I mean we are all different but we are humans nonetheless.

Well, it shouldn't be a dichotomy, then. It should be a spectrum, but it's not. I don't think it is that people are misunderstanding it, it's that the concept is dumb.

I think it's less that the concept is dumb, and more that people today spend all day trying to convince others that they don't accurately fit any labels. Yes, we know, you're an individual on various different spectrums. We're ALL individuals on spectrums. It doesn't mean we can't identify our tendencies for the sake of a simple informal poll.

Also, while I'm fine with you saying none of the above described you all that accurately, the fact is I did give somewhat of a spectrum in the poll: Very extroverted, Somewhat extroverted, Somewhat introverted, Very introverted, and Extremely introverted.

It is. If you take any professional myers-briggs test, it'll give you a percentage of introversion and extroversion. I haven't even taken one that doesn't give you your results in percentages.

My point is that it should be a spectrum, not a dichotomy.

And I gave a spectrum.
At work I'm a mn eternally optimistic social person who plans a bunch of the social events for the audit team.

At home and with my friends I'm quieter, introverted, and cynical.

All in all, I think this concept is somewhat archaic and even dumb.

I mean, I agree with you there. I think that the test has taken the core concept and evolved in an attempt to apply it to the real world. While the original women who made it might place more importance on the dichotomy, I think that anyone who administers and takes it today realizes that one is not wholly E or I, which is evidenced by the percentage of each that you get at the end of the test. Like, no one in their right mind who gets 55% Extrovert thinks that they're entirely an extrovert.

Idk man. ISFJ fits me so well. Maybe on gamefaqs it's different because I'm so comfortable here and say whatever I want.

I think it's the closest description of me compared to the others.
