Scotch for me. I was lucky to try a 45 year old scotch one time and holy fuck, it was like drinking liquid warmth, it was magical

anyway, i like all 3 at times, but mainly i'm about single malt scotch.

As somebody who doesn't drink, how would you describe the different tastes? Like, how does bourbon taste different from scotch? And is Irish whiskey the same as ones in the US (Jack Daniels, etc)?
