An Academic Study says that although twitter opinions point to a heavy 72% in favour of gay marriage
Oregon was one of, maybe even the first State to make it legal here in America. I was downtown celebrating with people because of it. This was in 2004, and it got reversed.

fucking lmao at using "twitter opinions" in a serious way
I don't understand why anyone would vote no. If 2 consenting adults want to get married, that is their choice. It affects nobody else, and numerous studies have shown that LGBT couples are just as competent at parenting as straight couples. There is no rational, evidence-based reason to vote no.
Let the people decide

I havent looked at it much but I think a major argument is that the wording on the vote is very vague, and could lead to people being prosecuted for saying something against gay marriage, or something like that. Slippery slope argument.
We still aren't. This is a vote for it to be voted on in parliament by the politicians. It's a massive waste of money.

It says that while 72% of tweets favoured same sex marriage, less than 15% were sent by people over the age of 55I genuinely hope they release the break down age ranges and what % of the population didn't vote in each demographic so we can definitively say which whiny ass age group
On the face of it, it seems like an overwhelmingly amount of people will vote Yes but adjusting the low proportion of tweets from over 55's and matching it against 36% of the voter pool they represent, support from yes comes down to 49%
"radical sex education"
Isn't Australia a mostly atheist country too? Lol...
Just to add our Prime Minister currently is leader of our conservative party but he's for gay marriage

You're operating under the assumption that there has to be a rational, evidence-based reason to vote no if people do vote no. But there does not have to be one. They might simply not like gay marriages to exist at all. If they are allowed a vote, they can vote however they please.

Fuck your leader who's wasting money on this farce and putting people through hell. It should have been voted on and passed a long time ago. They already know the public wants it.

Sure, but that makes them irrational and foolish.
