In your opinion?

Hindu turned Christian convert who supported George W Bush and opposed Gay Rights + Abortion. Became a congressman and Louisiana Governor. He also ran for presidency as one of the many "no chance but why not lol" candidates.

Turned many heads last year when he plain faced told the GOP that they need to stop being the stupid party and grow up.

Some highlights of his comments:

"We must stop being the stupid party"

"Stop insulting the intelligence of voters. We must reject the notion that demography is destiny, the pathetic and simplistic notion that skin pigmentation dictates voter behavior,"

"We must not become the party of austerity. We must become the party of growth,"

"We must compete for every single vote the 47 percent and the 53 percent."

"We had a number of Republicans damage the brand this (2016) with offensive and bizarre comments,"

"We must not be the party that simply protects the well-off so they can keep their toys, We have to be the party that shows all Americans how they can thrive."

A year removed, how do you feel about him? This Republican Governor and Congressman sounds more like Bill Maher than your typical GOP Christian.

But do you think he is right?

I voted no because the two party system itself is a joke.

I'll take that question. With a two party system everything (especially in this ultra partisan current environment) comes down to black and white. Majority party always gets their way regardless of actual benefits to the country. A third or fourth, fifth etc party, even in minority would provide more dynamic policies as the shitty parts of the majority party would fail, and the good parts would progress.
