I don't think it's a bad game but it's nowhere near the best Zelda game. Why the extremely polarizing answers?

Give me Majora's Mask any day

There's too many contenders for that title and there needs to be time between botw and it's successor to tell. Like resident evil 4, even playing 5 I knew 4 was special. Then 6 and definitely appreciated 4 more.

The first 3 day cycle in clock town is a slog and the deku swamp isn't much better. I'll be generous and give you the goron chapter. That's still 16.6~33.2% (or the first half; destroying replay value) of the game, hard to call it good after that.

It's a great game in its own right, but hardly the best game ever. Certainly not the best Zelda game for that matter. It's hard to compete with the classics.

imo its a great game and has some cool ideas, but its not terribly unique. Its just like any other open world, though it is done extremely well. I enjoy it but I wouldn't say its extremely innovative or revolutionary.
