I knew snes had a few other kinds of controllers (Power Glove, Power Pad, etc.), but I forgot all about this one.

Are you ranking these best-to-worst or worst-to-best?

Best-to-worst.
Edit: Ah, I got the symbol backwards! Sorry.

those weren't for the SNES dude wtf

SNES had Super Scope 6 and a bunch of crappy 3rd party controllers, mostly with turbo buttons.

I find it more surprising that the 3-button Sega Genesis is currently beating the 6-button version.

The NES continues to surprise me.

Sega either made two gen 4 consoles or 2 gen 5 consoles. I decided to keep it with gen 4, because of how quickly the support for it ended.

Dreamcast is same gen as PS2/GC/Xbox

They made a console for each gen
Shenmue II = best game of all time
Shenmue = 2nd best game of all time

Dreamcast was sixth gen. Very early sixth gen, but sixth gen nonetheless.

I guess?
It's hard to tell with it being right in the middle of that transition.

Snes personally if you compare what it was really competing with. This gen the switch pro feels the best.

wii u pro

I gave wii u an option, but since my poll wasn't specific enough, I guess I'd put it next to Switch Pro.

the Genesis controller >>> SNES controller tbh

The Genesis controller is bigger than the SNES controller, and it has three big buttons that you actually use. The SNES controller has 4 buttons, but you almost never use the X button.

Also the Genesis controller's d-pad is often stiff from my experience, but if you find a good one it is really amazing.
