I think a big part of it is the perception from watching the news about places like Berkeley where students riot whenever they don't like someone who is set to speak. This leads to the perception that college age people just can't handle disagreement in a rational manner, which is an important skill in the business world.
You have to be able to deal with people without flying off the handle and just shouting to drown them out in order to be successful in business.
I'm not saying all college students are like this, only that the media has painted a picture of college age students that is like this.
Some are, some aren't.
I think if businesses aren't happy with graduates, they should be taking a more active role in education instead of sitting on their hands and bitching about it.

They answered a survey dude, they didn't go out campaigning
Not even close. Very few actually teach you basic life skills you need as an adult and you can't trust parents to impart that knowledge.

Like what? College teaches critical thinking and research skills which cover 90% of life.

Basic life things. Getting out a loan/credit card. Dealing with paying bills, getting a mortgage etc. All just some good things that could be lessons for people whose parents don't teach them these necessary things.

None of the things you listed are difficult and can easily be learned on your own. Should they teach you that you have to cut your food into small pieces before eating it too?
