Should be charged with murder, but of course cops get kid gloves for something that would get decent people arrested/killed.Isnt it funny how the anti abortion crowd will probably defend this because it involves a cop?

You'd have some difficulty proving causation beyond the initial harm of being tasered. Certainly possible, especially if you have a really clear timeline to work with and a good expert witness, but still poses some difficulty.
Absolutely horrid and unnecessary regardless.
The current Florida statute reads:The law doesn't apply to cops.
782.09 Killing of unborn child by injury to mother.
(1) The unlawful killing of an unborn child, by any injury to the mother of such child which would be murder if it resulted in the death of such mother, shall be deemed murder in the same degree as that which would have been committed against the mother.
Murder. Life in prison.
The current Florida statute reads:The wording in that is so confusing.

Maybe. It would probably depend on how long after the incident she miscarried. If it was, say, a month later, then they'd probably not be able to prove he caused it. Compared to, say, if she miscarried the next morning.Yeah that's what I found puzzling and why I flagged it as an issue. The longer the temporal gap, the more difficult causation is to prove (or, rather, it becomes easier to muddy the waters).
After looking around a bit, I can't find any sources that state when she lost the baby. Best I can find is Forbes, which reports that "she wouldn't have the child, but didn't lose it as result of the tasing."
They probably laid down the easy charges to get the ball rolling, and well see some more added on soon.*doubt*
And people wonder why many of us hate cops.Everyone should hate cops and no one should ever trust one

Still absolutely flagrant abuse regardless.
so is the cop going to be charged with murder?Im sure all the pigs in New York will have a parade for him
Why is everyone jumping to conclusions? The cop did nothing wrong. How do we know the baby wasn't armed?
