It looks fine and the guy they got for BB actually has charisma and I wish him success. It's just this is a c-list hero after a decade of DC suck. It doesn't have a chance.

I'm sure the movie will be solid. It's just been fated to fail as it still runs into the pre-Gunn DC movie issue. It's basically a vestigial limb.

Gamespot gave it a 3. I'm sure it doesn't even need to be said what number IGN gave it for everyone to know.

Oh thank fucking god, I'm going to be watching an early screening tonight with my nephew (who really loves Blue Beetle) and now I can at least know it won't be a waste of time like The Flash was.

It'd honestly have to get phenomenal reviews for me to go see it. I just don't really care about that superhero at all. Same for why I haven't seen an Ant-Man movie or some of the other lesser character Marvel flicks.
Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

I mean it will still most likely flop commercially even if it's a great movie. There's no excitement for this.

The only ad I've seen for it is a Toyota Tacoma commercial that has Blue Beetle in it for...reasons?

I disagree. This movie is going to do just fine. It looks fun and likely will be a good action adventure film. As you said, the lead is charismatic and that's very important. Being A or C list is irrelevant to the general audience. They just want to be entertained.

I heard not all movies are getting rebooted. Some stuff will stick even after the reboot. I kinda have a suspicion they are planning to continue with this Blue Beetle actor. He will survive the reboot

It sounds like it will do better than was expected, as it apparently has a lot of hype in the Hispanic community. Like $30m domestic opening. That's not great considering its budget, but not an outright disaster like expected. Hopefully, it will have some legs since it seems to be at least decent.

Most likely due to the MCU actually being a successful huge cinematic universe so people get excited about new entries since everything's connected and there's fun to be had in theorizing what implications the new entry as.

Whereas DC has utterly failed to capture that. Hopefully Gunn's reboot of the whole thing goes well.

Yeah it's just the DC brand that stains the reputation. If the DC Cinematic universe were to make a comeback, this is probably it's best opportunity right now with the latest Marvel projects not being as big of hits (review wise).

MCU has goodwill and a strong track record. When you see a meh-trailer you are more likely to give it the benefit of the doubt.

The DCEU is literally the opposite. When people see a meh trailer, or even a good one, they are just more suspicious because they've been burned too many times.

Well they are morons because I'm pretty sure the current Blue Beetle in the comics is Hispanic. This is the 3rd Blue Beetle in history I think. First 2 were white. But now it's a Hispanic guy
