I gave it another shot not that long ago playing on the "easy" mode. While I got further than I did when it first came out before the "easy" mode existed, I got stuck on a boss in the latter half of the game and since it was a part where everything is frozen and I literally can't explore anywhere else, I gave up again because it was no longer fun for me to play. I really hope the next 2D game does not continue this trend in the series (or at least adds an easy mode that isn't still complete bullshit like the "easy" mode in Dread). This is literally the only 2D Metroid I've been unable to beat and I've been playing since the original came out on NES.
