I heard there's a thing called One Pace, which is like DBZ Kai, but I also dunno how good of an idea it is to watch that.
I also hated the vast majority of the crew and this is the main reason I gave up on it. That dick-nosed buffoon Usopp is the definition of obnoxious comedic relief.Yeahh... There's also that. I never got into the anime because I didn't like the comedy or how obnoxious the characters felt. I've seen episodes here and there, but never vibed with it.

Probably why the live-action appealed to me, because it felt like you got the core of what made the characters good without all the cartoony slapstick and shonen screaming. I love live-action Luffy, but I don't think I've ever seen a clip of anime Luffy that didn't make me want to turn the TV off lol.

One Piece is noticeably over the top when it comes to other anime.

Movies are mostly stand alone until around the time skip though and vague connection are made to the main story to sell tickets. Since fans can't write them off as filler. Even when they made no sense lore wise. Was going to ask about the movie too. I remember I went with some friends to see one in theaters a couple years back -- not sure which one it was. Despite not knowing about the series, I thought the movie was really cool and even felt emotional when Usopp(I think?) began to cry in the middle of a big fight. So I was probably going to check out the movie at appropriate times, if I ever got that far lol
I never watched it but judging from this, it seems really bad >_>yeah post skip the pacing goes down the drain, even if Wano is relatively better aside from standout examples like the one in the video

Is every single episode still a 5 minute intro with a 3 minute recap on the previous episode?
I don't think this has ever actually been a thing. Are you sure you're thinking of the right anime? My friend said that too about OP.
But idk if watching 50+ episodes of basically the same story I just watched sounds that exciting. Though I feel skipping all the anime episodes to the arc following the live-action is a bad idea too since there's def gonna be stuff the live-action left out.
It was noticably bad at Enies Lobby arc.yeah but you can just skip those, that's not really an issue. The issue is once they start dragging out actual scenes
When they rescued Robin they give a filler episode for each members of the strawhats to give a flashback about them and Robin.
Especially when you have stuff like Dragon Ball, Naruto, etc. literally just replaying the last 3 minutes of the previous episode. It's been a while since I watched the anime, but I'm pretty sure One Piece has like 2 min plus intro songs, on top of 3min plus recaps as well. With some episodes not even picking up where we left off with new episode content until after like 5 to 10 minutes in.
I never really felt it until post time skip tbh. It runs at a good pace for the most part till thenFishman Island was mostly pointless and Dressrosa was longer than it should have been. I'm not sure if the pacing got worse or I hadn't noticed it until then.
I really dont get the complaints about recaps and such. Thats just stuff to skip, which means less to watch, which means its easier than it otherwise would be to catch up, so its a win win IMO.There have been episodes that were literally only 12-13 minutes of new content after the opening, ridiculously long recaps, and an ending. Slice it anyway you want that's bullshit.

Thats literally saving you 144.8 hours or just over 6 days of watching do you really want to have to watch that much longer?
