CPR should be illegal for anyone over 80 for this reason
I've never seen anyone over that age survive compressions > 5 minutes
It's a nuance the public doesn't know. I don't have OP's dad's chart in front of me but pneumonia + CPR with that many broken ribs is a long road for recovery for even the healthy folk. Rough times.
