That is my watch.watch deez nuts
I never found shit. Except for some cash once. Which I pocketed. I mean how would anyone claim cash anyway?Cash is different. If its not in a wallet and it leaves your hand, its not the worlds and whoever finds it now owns it
Similar to you. As a server pens can be a rather highly valued commodity. If I see a pen lying on the ground I'm quick to pick it up and wanna claim it. However, if a server is close by I ask if they lost a pen.Spoilers:
This literally happened last night and it was her pen.
Asks for it back. Like say you find a watch on the ground, thats your watch. You have no obligation to try and find the owner.
however, if somebody later is like holy shit thats my watch! I lost it the other day! Then you have to give it back.
what are your guys personal rules when it comes to finders keepers?
the law is not on your side with all itemsWhat?
What?
if you find a wallet with identifiable information in it, and you take from it, that is theft.like I said I was more talking about things, not wallets
i know many people who would respond in a topic like this that they would do the right thing, but in a real life situation they would absolutely just snatch that shit and not ever think of giving it backI would absolutely snatch anything I wanted up if I saw it on the ground and would not look for the owner. If the owner somehow found me, or say.. posted a sign or something or walked around saying did anybody find a watch?! Id give it back
people be people
I've had 2 situations where I found a decent sum of money, the person who dropped it did not notice & both times I did the right thing I let them know. Once was in a pharmacy, an older woman was fumbling with her wallet, and there was a 50 dollar bill on the ground right next to her. She was very grateful that I informed her she dropped it. Another time I was walking on a sidewalk to a pizzeria, dude passed me and dropped his wallet, had a nice sum of cash in it. Dude was moving fast as hell so I had to jog and catch up with him to hand it over. I guess those situations were a bit different as it was something I noticed rather than the people actively looking for something I found, but in both situations it felt good doing the right thing. If I actively see somebody dropping money, or their wallet, or anything really, I would absolutely pick it up and give it to them. 100% of the time. However, if I find 100$ on the ground and didnt see who dropped it, that shit is now mine
what if they're weeping?I would use this as evidence that the item lost was in fact theirs, and return it
watch deez nutsThose are my nuts.
I can't believe TC wouldn't return my penis if I dropped iti had to use my magnifying glass to find it in the first place
i had to use my magnifying glass to find it in the first placehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BFtr8hRVbU&ab_channel=LinkMeClips
I hope you'll be broke and lost your last precious item, then someone found it and keep it to themselves, TC.That seems like a weird thing to say
That seems like a weird thing to say
whys that?
I hope you'll be broke and lost your last precious item, then someone found it and keep it to themselves, TC.That escalated quickly
Finders keepersYeah but like what did I say that made you want me to lose everything and then have the person not give me my last thing back, which is not what I said Id do?
like I said I was more talking about things, not wallets
also, Im not talking about the law, Im talking about my own personal law
Im sure if I find a watch, and somebody says thats my watch, I lost it the other day! And they dont have any proof, by law, Id have more claim to it, but Id give it back, because of my personal finders keepers belief
If someone elses name is on the watch, give it back to them.the name on it is irrelevant. If I find a watch and its mine now and somebody says my watch! Im not going to question it, Im gonna assume it really is their watch, because how else would they know I found it?
Actually there are like 12 golf balls somewhere in New Jersey that have either been sprayed into the woods or water around god knows how many golf courses out there with my name on it.
Not going to tell you my name of course, but if you see them, can you make sure I get them back? Those personalized Pro V1s are expensive.
Because i don't just want you to imagine being in the position of said people who lost their item, but actually in it.Youre a strange fella, and the things youre saying are weirdly hostile for seemingly no reason
Youre a strange fella, and the things youre saying are weirdly hostile for seemingly no reason
The reason is because i was in that position, and people who said finders keepers makes me upset.so you lost something, somebody found it, you said thats mine, and they wouldnt give it back?
so you lost something, somebody found it, you said thats mine, and they wouldnt give it back?
because I literally said I WOULD give it back. Or do you just get upset at the words finders and keepers being close to each other?
Of course you will give it back when they asked. Finders keepers are mostly just keep quiet that they found something. So you see something under a bench. A Pokmon card, a watch, a coin, whatever. A thing you think is cool. You think its immoral to pick it up?
How will they ask you if they don't know you found it?
Unless if you'll post fliers that you found something, then i rescind my statement.
So you see something under a bench. A Pokmon card, a watch, a coin, whatever. A thing you think is cool. You think its immoral to pick it up?
Pick it up and keep it , yes.Well then guess we differ on that
The owner might still be looking for it. You pick it up and you will also waste their time and energy in search for their lost item.
If you find a wallet put it in a USPS mailbox and it will be sent to the address inside.or itll be sent to the mailmans pocket
Pick it up and keep it , yes.I guess the difference between us it sounds like is if I lost something and came back and it was gone, I wouldnt blame the people who took it, Id be mad at myself for losing it in the first place. I wouldnt blame the picker upper for picking up

And this is why i said my first post.Even if I did experience it, I would blame myself for not taking better care of my things, I wouldnt blame the person who finders keepered me
Some people really has to experience it firsthand.
Spoilers:she lied it totally wasn't her pen
or itll be sent to the mailmans pocketThe money will be at least, so you might as well keep that for yourself before the mailman does.
the law is not on your side with all items
