Monster Hunter World vs Rise

Releasing incomplete is nothing new to Rise. We had to wait months for content to come through for Monster Hunter Generations via DLC so weapon trees could be finished. World announced its first free title update very very shortly after release (Deviljho) and was incredibly bare bones at launch. I remember the only thing to do when it released was farm the same 3 or 4 elder dragons for decorations endlessly for months as an "end game" which was pitiful even for pre G rank MH games

That reminds me actually of just how completely ass the decoration farming was. Going back to charms in Rise being the RNG drop was so much better
World was not an incomplete game at all though so it can't compared to Rise. World was a complete game at release with a last boss and endgame system in the form of tempered monsters for decorations. Deviljho was an endgame monster just like the rest of the monsters after him. We got Kulve, Lunastra, Behemoth, Leshen and Arch-Tempereds for every Elder Dragon in the game including Zorah and Xeno, each fit with their own armor sets. World players had AT Kush, Teo, Vaal, Kirin, Nerg, Luna, Kulve, Xeno, and Zorah to choose from at endgame PLUS Ancient Leshen and Behemoth EX by the last patch. Not to mention the 5 festivals, various collabs, event armor sets and weapons, Golden Jho, and Greatest Jagras. All of that was released within just over a year.

Meanwhile Rise released without an ending, without a last boss, without Elder dragons, and without an endgame. Then after patching it all in, they filled the gaps with crappy Apex monsters that gave players literally nothing, not even armor sets. They gave Valstrax at the very end and called it a day.

Like, it's all good to like Rise over World but to say World was barebones and incomplete is just blatantly false lmao. Even Rise's complete state is barebones. If World's final state was like Rise's, the equivalent would be 6 tempered monsters available and Deviljho after Xeno. Not even Tempered Elders either, just regular T2s.
