At the start of the game, there were summons listed in Dagger's interface that she couldn't summon due to lack of MP. But I'm on Ipsen's Tower and just realized I still haven't summoned anything with her or Eiko. I remember Ramuh showing up and forging a contract with her in the forest, but his name still isn't on the list of Summons, nor is Leviathan even though I remember her getting a jewel for it some time ago as well. So how do I summon?

Fun fact, if you grind a stupid amount of levels you can actually use those summons at the beginning of the game.

Equip the Chaos Emerald and summon Chaos

If the longer summon cutscene plays, it will do extra damage. If Garnet is in Trance the longer cutscene is guaranteed

Off-topic, but I just did the "four mirrors in four shrines" thing and they really skimmed over that part, huh. I was kinda looking forward to exploring the four shrines as duos.

Bring in a party with Quina wasnt enough for you?

You can kind of fight them again towards the end of the game.

Just beat the game.

That was some good stuff. 4th favorite numbered FF so far of the ones I've played.

Well every abilities sans blue magics are learned from equipments. Kinda surprised you didn't figure it out.

I just hit "optimize" to equip stuff, and that never included the summon gems. Thought the gems were just like items to use in combat since they appeared in the same list as potions and stuff.

And also I never used Dagger and Eiko that much in the first place.

I did this, just enough that I could summon Shiva I think. Cast once and blow your entire MP load.
I actually do this with all FF. With original FF7 I would have all lvl 3 limit breaks and have just about all materia mastered before even leaving Midgard.
