That answers why they didnt finish the trilogy.
But surely the writers had a reason why John Conner wouldnt just kill the two people he was determined to kill in the first place who happen to be his parents and killing them would mean he wouldnt be born Surely the writers thought of that.
Right?
Terminator is pretty straightforward that different timelines exist, so killing your parents wouldn't make you disappear like in back to the future.
the reason he didn't kill them right away was he was hoping to turn them into machines as well.
